COVID-19 Variable Compare Tool
The Variable Compare Tool (VCT) is intended to assist investigators who have used protocols from the PhenX Toolkit COVID-19 research collection and who would like to combine their data with studies using instruments from the PhenX COVID-19 Library. See More…
To support development of the VCT, data dictionaries were developed for prioritized full instruments from the COVID-19 Protocol Library. The selected full-instruments were then compared at the variable level.
There are three features available to explore the instruments and modules included in the VCT:
- Keyword Search returns specific variables (identical, comparable or related) and lists the names of instruments and PhenX protocols that include them.
- Side by Side Comparison allows the user to directly compare two instruments and/or PhenX protocols at the variable level.
- Compare Instruments and PhenX Protocols allows the user to compare many instruments and PhenX protocols at once. The heatmap visualization shows the number of similar variables in common among a set of instruments and PhenX protocols. Clicking on a heatmap box will take the user to a Side by Side comparison of the variables.
Searching by keywords will allow you to find variables related to those keywords. In addition, you will be able to find instruments that feature similar variables.
To see how similar two instruments (or protocols) are, select the two instruments you wish to compare from the below list. Results will summarize the percentage of variables in common and provide side by side comparisons of which the common variables are in common.
Select instruments from the list below to visually compare their similarity.
You can view similarities across multiple instruments using this option.
